Bhubaneswar: Odisha State Election Commission (SEC) on Monday gave a clean chit and cleared that no violation of Model Code of Conduct was done by BJD President and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at a meeting in Tangi, as alleged by Opposition parties.
“The Commission has received the report from the District Collector of Khurda on the violation. There is nothing to show any violation of Model Code of Conduct for the ensuing panchayat polls,” a senior commission official said.
The commission however has decided to ask the BJD to make a specific complaint against banning the election manifesto of the Congress.
The Opposition Congress on the other hand announced that it will reply to the commission if a notice is issued for publishing the manifesto.
