Bhubaneswar: The 8th State-level theatre festival organised by city-based Pancham Veda theatre group kicked off on Wednesday. The week-long event shall be staged at Rabindra Mandap.

In the inaugural evening of the festival, Pancham Veda premiered its production ‘Cabin’. The drama is directed by Haren Sahu.

Rourkela based Samparka theatre troupe shall present Nistabdha Sahanai during the next evening. The third evening shall feature Chakrabyuha, a production of Baripada-based Nupur theatre group and the next evening shall have presentation of Sir by Sambalpur Cultural Association.

The fifth evening shall stage the play Manduka Upakhyana by Canmas of Paradip, while the next evening would have Sakala Sandhana, a play by Kabach troupe from Puri. Sasemira Katha shall be the play for the concluding evening of the festival on Tuesday.

Among others Rabi Narayan Senapati, Development Commissioner, Shri Sushil Kumar Das, Director, Culture, Noted playwright  Ranjit Barik, Haren Sahu, Secretary of Pancham Veda and Lalatendu Patnaik graced the occasion as guests.
