Bhubaneswar: Dr. Anita Agnihotri, Member-Secretary, National Commission of Women (NCW) visited SCB today for a detailed inquiry into the gangrape matter. She will submit the report to the Commision within ten days.

It is noteworthy to mention that as per the direction of the High Court, the SCB Medical College and Hospital authorities on Wednesday had filed a status report on the health condition of the Pipili gangrape victim which stated that there has been no significant improvement in the condition of the victim, who is being treated since three weeks in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), under the supervision of a team of specialists.

Hospital Superintendent Prof. D. N Moharana, in the status report of the victim stated that she continues to have fever while her blood pressure and respiration are normal.

The HC’s Division Bench of Chief Justice V Gopala Gowda and Justice BN Mohapatra, who is monitoring the treatment of the girl ever since she was shifted here on January 11, accepted the hospital report and asked the authorities to file another status report of the victim next week.

Similarly, the Crime Branch also submitted a status report to the division bench. The report stated that the polygraph tests of all the four accused has been conducted. Investigation is on to ascertain some more facts about the incident. It further stated that a team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) had examined the victim. The opinion of the AIIMS team is still awaited, the report said.

It also mentioned that a two member team of Crime Branch had visited the place where the incident had occurred and are now engaged in talking to the people of the victim’s village to ascertain some more facts about the incident.
