Gotipua dance at the third evening of Kharavela Festival
Bhubaneswar: The third day of the spectacular and colourful National Kharavela Festival with a beautiful setting at the foothills of the famous Khandagiri kept the audience enthralled for hours.

The evening opened with a wonderful presentation of Odissi by the artistes of Shravani Mitra and Group. They performed ‘Mangalacharan’ followed by ‘Battu’. The group came up with a terrific Abhinaya on ‘Mo bayara banka chulare kie khanjile phula tahiare…’. It was a powerful composition of Trinath Das, which showcased the love and affection between Lord Krishna and mother Yasodha.

Later Kalinga Cultural Group of Kalahandi performed Ghumura dance. Another remarkable presentation was the Oran dance that came from a group from Jharkhand. The evening also witnessed ‘Pandavani’, a noteworthy performance by a group from Chhattisgarh.

The next performance of the evening was Gotipua dance by a group from Raghurajpur.

Next the evening also witnessed tribal dance of Gujarat named ‘Dangi’. The concluding item of the evening was a dance performance by the artistes of Banjiya Group of Sambalpur.
