Angul: Activists under the banner of the Birankeswar Silpanchala Kshyatigrasta Praja Sangha (BKSPS) on Wednesday decided to continue their agitation in front of the Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) from today.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Sangha, which consists of land losers.
Manasa Kumar Pal, a BSKPS functionary said, “We have decided to continue the strike till the second round of talks among the district administration, company officials and the affected villagers.”
Meanwhile, JSPL has appealed to the agitating villagers to come to the table for discussion.
The company has released Rs 15 lakh towards the medical expenses of the villagers who were injured in the violent clash on January 25.
Construction work at the plant site had come to a grinding halt as the villagers have been protesting following the clash.
