Bird Flu: Mopping up operation in the State Capital
Bhubaneswar: The local administration on Friday carried out the mopping up operation in the 16 wards of the State capital designated as alert zone on Friday.

During the mopping process on Friday, the Rapid Response Teams (RRTS) culled as many as 244 birds and destroyed 2846 eggs. Compensation was also paid to the owners.

The mopping operation will also continue today in the Salia Sahi area. While two teams will be sent to Salia Sahi, rest of the teams will be deployed at Central Poultry Development Organisation (CPDO) and Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).

Meanwhile of the 30,036 households in the slum areas, 29,833 households were covered by the surveillance teams by Friday. Surveillance in non-slum areas will start from today.
