Bhubaneswar: Adding a new twist to the much hyped Pipili gangrape case, the report submitted by a team of forensic experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), New Delhi on Friday revealed that there was an attempt to murder the victim while there was no trace of gangrape.
The AIIMS team headed by forensic expert Dr T D Dogra on Friday, submitted its report to the Crime Branch. The Crime Branch submitted the AIIMS report in the High Court.
The AIIMS report stated that there was no trace of gangrape. But the victim was strangulated with utmost force for over one minute in an attempt to murder. The experts team in its report also stated that the victim would have died had she been strangulated for a few more seconds.
It is noteworhty to mention that the Crime Branch who was investigating the case had sought the assistance of the AIIMS experts. So a five-member team headed by Dr T D Dogra had reached on January 28 to assist Crime Branch in this case. The experts had examined the victim and had an on the spot inquiry in the village where the incident had taken place.
