Paradip: At least three employees of IFFCO were taken following leakage of ammonia gas from a pipeline while being unloaded from a ship to the IFFCO plant at Paradip port.
IFFCO DGM (Fire and Safety) V S Amin, said, Equator Berlin, the ship from Iran, was unloading ammonia gas to the plant through a pipeline when the incident occurred.
The employees disconnected the pipeline unloading the gas from the ship to the plant soon after the incident. The condition of three employees of the plant grew serious after they came in contact with it. They were immediately rushed to the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) Hospital but later were shifted to Kalinga Hospital, Bhubaneswar. Their
condition is stated to stable
