Angul: Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) Naveen Jindal arrived at Nisha of Angul on Wednesday and met the villagers.
The villagers have been agitating in front of the Plant’s main gate since the clash with the security personnel of the company on January 25, demanding enhanced compensation, employment and other benefits.
Jindal interacted with the villagers and assured them that all possible steps were being taken by the company to address the grievances of the villages.
He expressed deep regret over the January 25 incident and said that such incidents should never recur. He assured the people that JSPL is a socially responsible and sensible company and shall carry forward its development work which will benefit the locals for all time to come.
The agitating villagers demanded that such meetings with the management should be organised in regular basis.
