Cuttack: Justice A S Naidu, who is heading the judicial Commission of inquiry into the recent hooch tragedy in the State visited Tukulipada, the epicentre of the tragedy, under Sadar police limits on Sunday for an on-the-spot examination.
Justice Naidu accompanied by the Cuttack DCP and Excise officilas visited the house of Baidhar Bhoi, who has allegedly supplied the spurious liquor in the area. He also talked with the family members of some victims and other survivors.
Apart from this he visited all the places in the village where bottles of Epeecarm, Cinnamon were concealed following the deaths. He visited a couple of other nearby villages.
The Commission then headed towards Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital near Bhubaneswar. As many as three persons had died in the hospital during treatment. Justice Naidu consulted with the doctors in connection with the liquor deaths.
It is noteworthy to mention that the Commission headed by Justice A S Naidu, started his probe into the recent hooch tragedy that struck several villages in Cuttack and Khurda districts of Odisha on Saturday from the SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCB MCH). He sought postmortem reports and inquired about the condition of patients when they were rushed to the hospital from the villages after the tragedy. He also enquired about clinical diagnosis and cause of deaths from the doctors. He collected documents relating to the tragedy from the hospital.
The Commission after probing the causes and the circumstances under which the hooch tragedy had taken place will submit its report to the Government in six-months.
