Bhubaneswar: The week-long annual national multi-lingual drama festival in the capital being hosted by the city-based Satabdira Kalakar theatre organisation at Rabindra Mandap will commence from February 21.

In a press meet on Sunday, Pradosh Patnaik, President, Satabdira Kalakar and Dhira Mallick, General Secretary, informed that the inaugural play of the festival would be ‘Surjyastha Purbaru’. It would be followed by Bengali play ‘Dedha Paisa Re Pala’ on Wednesday.

Thursday would witness presentation of the Hindi play ‘Ye Aadmi Ye Chuhe’. Similarly, Friday would have Santhali play ‘Phagun Phata’.

Hindi play ‘Madhavi’ is slated to be staged on Saturday evening. Bengali play ‘Sandhya Sare Chhata’ would be staged on Sunday.

The closing presentation of the festival would be Odia play ‘ Klanta Basundhara’

Well-known actress Bina Singh and eminent actor Ramchanrda Pratihari would be conferred the Sumitra Samman and the Alekh Samman respectively during the festival.
