Bhubaneswar: On the eve of the budget session of State Assembly BJD legislators met to discuss the action plans for budget session and for the coming urban local bodies poll. Several BJD legislators demanded a package for urban voters by the State Government as the poll for urban local bodies are scheduled for next year.
The MLAs wanted to increase the MLA local area development fund to 2 or 3 crore rupees from current 1 crore rupees. BJD Supremo, Naveen Patnaik presided over the meeting and assured the members that he will take necessary steps by taking their matter into consideration. Total 70 legislator members were present in the meeting. There was also demand for the implementation of Biju Gram Jyoti Yojana (BGJY).
To a question Naveen Patnaik told that the MLAs are free to go their respective constituencies for panchayat poll elections but they have to come back to attend the Assembly.
