Bhubaneswar: State budget session is scheduled to start from Tuesday and will continue till April 7. This session contains 29 official working days while 4 non-official working days. The 1st session will continue till February 29th and the 2nd session is scheduled from March 14 to April 7.

The budget session will begin with the address of Governor, Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare on the works and achievements of the state government. Finance Minister, Prafulla Chandra Ghadei will present the budget for the 2012-13 financial year. State budget discussion will be from February 27 to 29. The house will be adjourned from March 1 to 13. From March 14 onward the house will discuss on budget allocation requests by different departments standing committees.

The bills that are to be tabled in this session are Odisha Groundwater Regulation, Development and Management bill, 2011, International Institute Of Information Technology Bill, 2012, The scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribe and Backward Classes Regulation of Issuance and Verification Of Caste Certificate Bill, 2010, Odisha Local Fund Audit (Amendment) Bill, 2011, Odisha Maritime Board Bill, 2011, Odisha Muslim Marriage and Divorcees Registration (Amendment) Bill, 2011, and Odisha VAT (Amendment) Bill, 2012.
