Bhubaneswar: The popularity of Epeecarm and Cinnamon as alcoholic drinks has prompted the State Government to think on its usage.
Accordingly a high-level technical committee headed by Dr. P K Dash, Director, Medical Education and Training to submit a report in a week’s time on the medicinal utility of similar formulations that have high alcohol content.
The committee will also have Director, Health Services, Drugs Controller, HoDs of medicine as well as Pharmacology departments of all three medical colleges and a medicine specialist who will be nominated by Chairman/HoD of Pharmacology, AIIMS.
Once the assessment is over, the Government may suggest a change in the formulations or even impose a ban on a few, if necessary.
