Angul: The month-long deadlock at Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) plant site finally came to an end on Thursday as the much awaited tripartite talk between land losers, the administration and JSPL was successful leading the people to stop agitation and remove blockades.
The meeting had been convened by Angul district administration to resolve the crisis arising out of the January 25 clash between the land losers and JSPL security guards in which over 160 people were injured.
The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Collector Siba Mishra, in presence of Executive Director, JSPL, Rajesh Jha and was attended by SP Satybrat Bhoi, ADM D Senapati, and some representatives of the Khyatigrasta Praja Sangh.
As per the discussion the company will bear the medical expenses of the villagers who were injured in the violent clash on January 25 and will provide 30 percent more of the amount spent to the villagers.
