Bhubaneswar: Instant News and Entertainment felicitated the successful talents of Odisha in different fields like acting, sports etc in a program ‘Best of Odisha-2011’ at Utkal Mandap on Sunday.
On this occasion veteran actor of Odia film industry Sarat Pujari, was conferred the Lifetime Achievement award for his contribution to the field of cinema.
The main attraction of the evening was Avika Gaur, who played the role of Anandi in Balika Vadhu—Kachchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte, an Indian television series that airs on Colors TV.
Among others from the film industry, Samaresh, Pappu pom pom, Mihir Das, Aparajita Mohanty, Sabyasachi, Archita Sahu, Arindam, Priya, Siddhant Mohapatra, Anu Choudhury, Barsha Priyadarshini, Anubhav Mohanty, Babushan, Manas-Pritam, Gudly Rath, Tapu Mishra, Bapu Goswami were also felicitated.
Similarly Mountaineer Ganesh Jena, Karate player Valena Valentina, Chess player Padmini Rout were also felicitated for their outstanding contribution in the field of sports. Social activist Rituparna Mohanty, News Reader Bibhuti Biswal, Bhabani Mohapatra, Gayatree Mohanty, Nilima Priyadarshini were among the others who were felicitated.
The award ceremony was followed by a musical night & dance performances. It was a treat for the audience to see the dance performance by Jina, Sambit, Little, Guddu, Gargi, Bidu, Prabhu, Mamta and others at Utkal Mandap, the open-air auditorium.
Among others, MP MLA Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patasani, Pratap Jena, School and Mass Education Minister, Odisha, Jayant Das, President of Orissa HC Bar Association graced the occasion as guest.
