Cuttack: The 3rd edition of the International Dance and Music Festival in memory of late Laxman Gadnaik was inagurated on Tuesday.

The festival was inagurated by Professor Baishnab Charan Tripathy, the Vice-chancellor of Ravenshaw University.

The three-day festival will witness Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchpudi and Chhau dances besides Hindustani and Odissi instrumental music. The festival will also witness artistes from across the country and from abroad.

The inaugural evening started with the musical performance of K Bhubaneswari. The next performance of the evening was the solo Odissi performance by Gayatri Chand followed by Kathakali performance by Sucheendra Nathan of Kerela.

The last performance of the evening was the duet Odishi dance performance by Ramesh Chandra Jena and Madhusmita Mohanty.

Among others Sanjeevani Sudha Pattnaik, Former Director, All India Radio, Bapu Lenka graced the occasion.

The festival is organised by National Music Association.
