Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education Department on Wednesday has asked all the Collectors to provide adequete security to the officials of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) that conducts the Higher School Certificate (HSC) exam, which is scheduled to commence from March 19.

As per the sources, at least 5 lakh students in 2,095 centres are expected to appear in this years examination.

Rajesh Verma, Secretary, School and Mass Education Department in his letter to all the Collectors has directed them to take immediate measures for the safe custody of the question papers and other materials kept at the disposal of Centre Superintendents.

Apart from this the department has also directed the police administration to give necessary protection to the BSE officials at the time of transit since they carry confidential materials.
