Bhubaneswar: As many as thirty students were booked and one was expelled for malpractice on the first day of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Plus-II exams that began on Friday.

Around 2.79 lakh students are appearing in the CHSE Plus-II examination this year, sources said. The theory examinations in all streams i.e. +2 Science, Commerce, Arts will be over by March 27, and practical examinations will be held after that.

It should be noted that as many as 141 nodal centres have been set up to monitor the exam process and to keep it free from malpractice.

Following the incident on the first day of the exams, the Council has decided to intensify monitoring for the rest of the examinations.
