Bhubaneswar: The inaugural session of the 8th Entrepreneurship Week (March 5 to March 12) involving the stakeholders from different industrial sectors was held at Hotel Swosti Premium today.
The program was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The theme of the year is “Opportunities and Challenges for MSME in Odisha” with special reference to marketing of the produces of small and medium-scale industries.
During the week long program Seminars will be conducted on various sectors like downstream industries, ancillaries, food processing, commercial horticulture, live-stock farming, value addition through cold-chain and market link, promotion of tourism with special emphasis on eco-tourism, hospitality, handloom and textiles.
Apart from this there will be a separate session for credit and market linkages. Frequently asked questions with solutions will be circulated on all themes during all sessions for providing guidance to potential entrepreneurs.
Similarly, various industrial houses and industries associations will also throw light on emerging areas as visualised by them and suggest Governmental support they need for promotion of those sectors.
Open house discussion will be held on March 12 wherein both the Government departments and entrepreneurs will share their views on how to remove the existing bottlenecks for putting up industries.
Among others, Shri Pyarimohan Mohapatra, Hon’ble Member Rajya Sabha, Shri Prafulla Chandra Ghadai, Hon’ble Minister, Finance, Shri Surya NArayan Patro, Hon’ble Minister, Revenue and Disaster Management, Shri Raghunath Mohanty, Minister of Industries, Steel & Mines, Parliamentary Affairs, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Dr. H P Kumar, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NSIC, Government of India were present.
