Indian Wells: India’s Sania Mirza and her Russian partner Elena Vesnina had to battle hard against the Czech team of Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka to book a berth in the finals of the WTA Paribas Open tennis at Indian Wells.
The Indo-Russian pair came from a set down Friday to win in the super tie-break 5-7, 7-5, (10-3). The second seeds took an hour and 45 minutes to dispose of the Czech pair.
Sania-Vesnina will play number one seeds Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond of the US in the final. Huber and Raymond beat the unseeded Czech duo of Iveta Benesova and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova in the other semi-finals.
