Bhubaneswar: The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations-2012, conducted by the Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) begins from today.

According to the examination schedule announced by the Board of Secondary Education exams will be conducted in one sitting from March 19 to 27(7.30 am to 10 am) and in two sittings from March 28 to 31(7.30 am to 8.45 am and 9.45 am to 11 am).

According to BSE sources, the examinations will be held in 2095 centres. 5,11,443 students have filled up their forms to appear at the examinations in both Regular and Ex-Regular streams.

Regular and ex-regular student will appear for the MIL subject on March 19 and March 20, English on March 21 and 22, Hindi or Sanskrit on 23 and 24, Mathematics on 26 and 27 respectively. On March 28 regular students will appear for Science P-I in the first sitting whereas ex-regular students will appear for the same in the second sitting.

Under similar schedule, they will appear for Science P-II on March 29, Geography and Economic on March 30 and History and Geography on March 31.

The BSE authorities have also made elaborate arrangements to check malpractices during examinations. As many as 137 central squads have been formed to check mass copying and malpractice during the exams.
