Students appearing exam at Secondary Board High School, Cuttack on MondayCuttack: The Crime Branch sleuths on Saturday began its probe into the unfortunate incident of the HSC question paper theft case.

A team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police along with Scientific and FSL team reached Bhagabati Bidyapitha and started its inquiry into the matter. They quizzed the Centre Superintendent and three other school staffs, who have already been put under suspension after it was established that the question papers were burgled from the school on the night of March 20.

According to sources the question papers of English, Third Language, Mathematics, and two papers each of Science and Social Science were found missing. After the incident, the board officials abandoned the exams for the Regular students. However the examinations for the Ex-regular students and Madhyama (Matric exams in Sanskrit) students are continuing.

It is noteworthy to mention that, bowing to the Opposition demand and hue and cry across the State, the State Government on Friday had ordered a probe by Crime Branch police into the incident as Congress demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Minister of State for School and Mass Education, Pratap Jena.
