Students appearing exam at S M Girls' High School Old Town, Bhubaneswar on MondayBhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) is all set to take effective measures during the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations for the smooth conduction of the exams which will commence from Tuesday.

According to the fresh examination schedule announced by the BSE, exams will start from April 17 and will end on April 26, 2012.

The BSE authorities have also made elaborate arrangements to check malpractices during examinations. As many as 230 nodal centres have been set up in the state by the board for safe custody of question papers for the matriculation exams. They have also sought assistance of the local police in this connection, sources said.

It is noteworthy to mention that the BSE decided to reschedule the ongoing Matriculation examination following the theft of question papers of English, Third Language, Mathematics, and two papers each of Science and Social Science by some miscreants from Bhajpur-based Bhagabati Bidyapitha near Kakatpur in Puri district on March 21.
