Bhubaneswar: India’s richness in people, flora & fauna was reflected in the patriotic songs presented by the singers of repute at ‘Bharatiyam’ – A Festival of Patriotic Songs on the evening on August 15, 2012, coinciding the celebration of 66 years of India’s Independence, at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar.
The festival was organised by Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi under the aegis of the Department of Tourism & Culture.
The spectacular ambience had the patriotic taste and flavour in and around the stage and outside the auditorium symbolizing the spirit of unity, peace and amity.
The singers of the evening were Sri Pranab Kishore Pattnaik, Guru Ramahari Das, Sri Lakshmi Kanta Palit, Sri Subash Dash, Smt. Trupti Das, Sri Sourav Nayak, Smt. Pammi Mishra, Ms. Tapu Mishra, Ms. Nazia Alam, Sri Randeep Palit, Sri Bandish Palit, Ms. Barnali Hota.
The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Shri Ashok Kumar Tripathy, Principal Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Shri Sushil Kumar Das, Director, Culture; Dr. Sarat Pujari, President, OSNA and Shri Chitta Ranjan Mallia, Secretary, OSNA and eminent Singer Sri Lakshmi Kanta Palit. The programme was compered by Shri Deba Prasad Dash and Kamal Kiran.
