In order to promote national unity, National Integration, Brotherhood and Oneness every year ‘Rajiv Gandhi Rashtriya Ekta Samman’ is awarded to a handful of multi-dimensional personalities working with same motto all over the nation.
This year the award was presented to Dr. Prakash in a grand ceremony at India International Centre, New Delhi on August 20, 2012 by Shri Charan Das Mahant, Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture & Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India.
Among others His Excellency Sri B.P. Singh, Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Dr. Bhishma Narain Singh, Former Governor of Assam & North East State, Shri Oscar Fernandes, General Secretary, AICC, Smt. Mamata Sharma, Chairperson, National Commission for women, Major Ved Prakash, Secretary, AICC, Sri L.P. Bhartia, President, Rajsthan small & medium newspaper federation, Gurinder Singh, Chief Editor, Indian Observer, Deepak Singh, Convenor and Dr. G. V. G. Krishnamurthy, Former Election Commissioner were present.
