The house had debated the Odisha Right to Public Service Bill, 2012 on Wednesday. But there was no discussion on two other bills – The Odisha Municipal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2012 which provides for women’s reservation and Odisha Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes (Regulation of Issuance and Verification of Caste Certificates) Bill, 2011. All the three bills were passed on Thursday.
The state had already made provision of 50 percent reservation for women in the state’s panchayati raj institutions since last year.
