anti-maoist-operationBhubaneswar: Three landmines were seized during a joint combing operation by the CRPF and the state’s elite anti-Maoist force Special Operation Group in Kandhamal district on Friday.

Apart from the landmines, electric wire, electrical switches, digital multi meter, dry battery were also seized from a forest under Dargabali revenue village in Brahmanigaon police station limits, sources said.

The materials were suspected to have been stored by Maoists for future use. However, no one was arrested in this connection as no one was present at the spot.

Meanwhile combing operation and patrolling has been intensified in the sensitive areas after the seizure inorder to prevent any major incident.
