Bhubaneswar: Travelling by city buses will cost more as the city bus operator Dream Team Sahara (DTS) on Friday has decided to implement the revised fee structure announced by the State Government on August 7, following the diesel price hike on Thursday.
According to the revised fee structure, a Rs 1 hike has been made for destinations ranging 0-12 kilometre. Commuters now have to pay minimum Rs 5 for travelling up to 0-3 km, Rs 7 for 3-6 km, Rs 8 for 6-9 km and Rs 9 for 9-12 km.
Similarly a Rs 2 hike has been made for destinations ranging between 12-15 km, 15-18 km and 18-21 km. A Rs 3 hike has been made for destinations ranging between 21-24. Similarly, one has to pay Rs 35 for travelling up to 30 km as against Rs 32 earlier.
It is noteworthy to mention that it is for the first time that the fare went up, ever since the city bus service was launched under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban National Renewal Mission.
