Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Wednesday directed Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) authorities to furnish exact information on the work progress of its Rs 46,000- crore, 15 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), Paradip Oil Refinery project in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha.

Chief Secretary Bijay Patnaik in a review meeting at the State Secretariat asked the IOCL authorities to furnish information about the exact time duration needed to complete the project and to expedite the peripheral development work near the project sites.

During the meeting, M Vijay Wargiya, Executive Director of IOCL, Paradip, informed the Government that about 88 percent of the onstruction work is completed and the refinery is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2014.

Replying to media persons, Wargiya said that the delay in the construction work was due to the law and order situation near the project site and the lack in the required number of labourers.
