Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit Koraput and Malkangiri today.
During his visit, Patnaik is likely to announce various government programmes for the two districts. Patnaik will inaugurate the Cattle Breed Improvement Programme and literacy programme in Koraput sources said.
Laxmipur BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka, who was released on April 26 after spending 32 days in Maoist captivity is also likely to accompany Patnaik during his visit to Koraput, sources said.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the trouble-torn Koraput and Malkangiri districts ahead of Patnaik’s visit. State Police and paramilitary forces have been put on high alert at both places to avoid any untoward incident.
