Bhubaneswar: The number of people infected with dengue is on rise in Odisha, with more and people in the State testing positive for dengue with every passing day.
The SCB Medical College and Hospital is overflowing with dengue patients since Friday evening. However, with not enough beds, many patients are undergoing treatment in the corridor of the medicine ward and staying there in unhygienic conditions. According to the hospital authorities, over 65 dengue patients are currently undergoing treatment at SCB.
Looking at the inflow of patients, the hospital authorities had declared they would open a special dengue ward with more nursing staffs, para-medical staffs and doctors, hospital sources said.
Meanwhile, at least four students of MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur have tested positive for dengue, medical college sources said on Saturday.
Over 20 dengue patients are currently undergoing treatment at MKCG MCH.
