Bhubaneswar: Dengue has claimed yet another life in Odisha, taking the official death toll of the disease in the State over the last two and half months to six, government sources said on Friday.
The latest victim was Debi Prasad Biswaranjan, a student of the Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Medical College & Hospital (MKCG MCH) Berhampur, sources from the State Health Department said.
It is noteworthy to mention that as many as six students of MKCG MCH had tested positive for dengue on October 14.
The State Government had confirmed as many as 1,480 positive dengue cases have been reported in Odisha this year till Friday. More than half the people who tested positive for dengue were from the coastal Balasore (438) and Ganjam (413) districts.
