Bhubaneswar: he High School Certificate (HSC) examinations, conducted by the Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) would be conducted from February 20 next year, instead of April and the results will be published by the end of April, BSE President Dr D P Nanda said on Thursday.
Early examinations and early declaration of results will enable students to apply for higher studies in national colleges and would also open the way for the early completion of supplementary examinations so that the successful students don’t have to lose a year, Nanda added.
The examination Committee of the board has also decided to reform the examination system. The Committee has decided that the examinations would be held under a new format in which the examinees would be provided with a question-cum-answer sheet. Space will be provided in the question booklet for the students to write the answers, which will help check malpractice during the examination and other incidents like question paper theft etc that was seen during this year’s examination .
The students would not be allowed to take the questions back, instead, they can download the questions from the website of the board, which would be posted after the examinations are over.
