Bhubaneswar: Maoists on Tuesday claimed to have set free three persons who were reportedly abducted in two separate incidents in Malkangiri and Koraput districts on Saturday.
The abducted persons included Laxman Pangi (village guard), who was forced to accompany a group of armed Maoists and was dragged out at gun-point out of his house at Badadural under Khairput police limits.
Another person Daya Chalan, was also abducted by a group of armed Maoists from Sanadural village adjoining Badadural.
Similarly, another person who was suspected to have been abducted by Maoists on Saturday night from Ankadeli village on the Malkangiri-Koraput border was also released by the Maoists.
