Bhubaneswar: Rajya Sabha MP and chief of the newly formed Odisha Jana Morcha (OJM) Pyari Mohan Mohapatra, on Thursday, in a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged him to ensure a peaceful rally of the OJM scheduled to be held on October 28.
Mohapatra alleged that disrupting tactics were being adopted by Patnaik as he has called the BJD MLAs to stop people from their constituencies from attending the rally in a bid to foil their proposed rally.
Adding more Mohapatra also alleged that there is a plan to create law and order situation in the venue so that the rally is foiled.
Mohapatra also alleged Patnaik of abusing the administrative and police machinery against him by keeping his house surrounded for at least seven months and tapping his phones illegally.
“Internal party differences which arise over the issues of ideology, principle and leadership should not be allowed to be settled through illegal actions of goons and administrative interference and that too at the behest of the Chief Minister,” Mohapatra wrote in the letter.
Mohapatra requested Patnaik to direct the Commissionerate Police to take action against all disruptive elements during the rally for creating any disturbance, irrespective of their political and administrative status.
