About 50 armed guerrillas raided the construction site near MTV-22 under Kalimela police station and set the equipment on fire.
They also threw other materials including cement and iron rods. Although some workers were present at the camp, they did no harm anyone sources said.
The Maoists are active in more than half of the State. Malkangiri district, around 640 km from the state capital Bhubaneswar, is considered their stronghold. Maoists last month had also killed two tribal village guards in this district after kidnapping them.
