Bhubaneswar: A team of the Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) led by senior BJP leader Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi is scheduled to visit Odisha today to probe into issues related to coal block allocation.
The team during its two-day stay in the State will discuss with the State Government on its stance on allocation of coal blocks for private as well as PSU firms. The team will also examine the measures taken by the State Government to prevent water pollution in the State.
The team is also likely to make on the spot study and scrutinise documents pertaining to coal block allocation & exploration, on the basis of the findings of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG) on coal block allocations made between 2005 and 2009.
