Bhubaneswar: In a bid to streamline the grievance redressal system, Panchayati Raj Minister Kalpataru Das launched the dedicated helpline service for the Panchayati Raj Department on Thursday.
The helpline developed in collaboration with DfID will function under the Grievance Redressal Cell of the Department and will be located at State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD).
The helpline 18003456768 will operate between 8am in the morning to 8 pm in the evening on all working days. A person using this helpline can make a complaint. The complainant will then be issued with a complaint number that will enable him/her to track the grievances and the status of the grievance.
Apart from this people can also lodge their complaints at SIRD every Monday.
It is noteworhty to mention that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had suggested the Collectors to hold the grievance day on Monday, the first day of the week, instead of conducting it on Saturday, which would allow them five days to redress and follow up, during the one-day Collectors Conference on September 27, 2012 .
