Bhubaneswar: The six-member team of the Shah Commission who had visited the State on October 31, to continue its third phase of investigation into the illegal mining scam in the State, has visited as many as nine mines in the State during its two-day on the spot verifications by Friday.
The Commission team had visited four mines on Thursday and as many as five mines on Friday in Keonjhar and Sundergarh districts.
Commission team leader U V Singh, Principal Conservator of Forests, Karnataka said,”We have inspected nine mines during a two-day field visit. For now, we are going back to Bhubaneswar to scrutinize the records of the mines.”
Earlier the Commission team had visited the State on October 3 and had examined files of about 88 mines during their nine-day stay in the capital city of Bhubaneswar. The Commission team this time is likely to scrutinize the records of 99 more mines during their stay in the State until November 11.
