Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik reviewing the Power Projects likely to be commissioned by March 2014 at Secretariat on Friday
Bhubaneswar: As revealed by a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat on Friday, seven out of the total 29 Independent Power Projects (IPP) are expected to start production and generate 1800 MW of power by March 2014.

The seven Independent Power Producers (IPPs) include GMR Kamalang Energy Ltd, Jindal Thermal Power Ltd, K V K Nilachal Power Power(P) limited, Lanco Babandh Power Ltd, Monnet Power Company Ltd, Ind Barath Energy (Utkal)Ltd and Maadurga Thermal Power Company Ltd.

It is noteworthy to mention that as many as 29 Independent Power Producers (IPPs) had signed agreements with the state government to produce 37,440 MW of power, to help the State to meet the power crisis experienced during the summer.
