Cuttack: The number of people infected with dengue is on rise in Odisha, with more and people in the State testing positive for dengue with every passing day.

The SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack confirmed at least 17 dengue patients have been admitted to the hospital on Saturday and Sunday.

Amongst the 17 include, two more medical students namely Dipti Nandan Pradhan, a student of private-run Hi-tech medical college haailing from Kendrapada and Sashikant Panda, a student of state-run MKCG Medical College and Hospital, who hails from Balasore.

It is noteworthy to mention that earier, as many as six medical students of MKCG and a doctor Malaya Pradhan, posted in Jajpur district, had also tested positive for dengue on October 16. While others eventually recovered from the fever, Debi Prasad Biswaranjan, a student of the Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Medical College & Hospital (MKCG MCH) Berhampur, succumed to death.
