Bhubaneswar: A cold spell swept across Odisha with Phulbani town in Kandhamal district Wednesday recording 5.8 degrees Celsius, the day’s lowest in the state, an official said.
Phulbani town is about 200 km from here.
The day’s second lowest temperature of 10 degrees Celsius was recorded at Baripada town in Mayurbhanj district, followed by district headquarters town of Koraput with 10.2 degrees Celsius, an official of the Bhubaneswar meteorological centre told IANS.
Other places which recorded minimum temperatures between 10-11 degrees Celsius included district headquarter towns of Baripada, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Sundergarh and Koraput.
The state capital Bhubaneswar and its adjoining district’s headquarter town Cuttack remained comparatively warmer recording minimum temperatures of 13.4 and 14.0 degrees Celsius, respectively, he said.
