Bhubaneswar: In view of the forthcoming World Tourism Day to be celebrated on September 27, 2014, on the eve of World Tourism Day Hon’ble Minister Tourism & culture reviewed the different events and activities to be undertaken within the state.
The morning will kick-start with a Tourism Walk starting from Master Canteen Square to Ekamra Haat via Ram Mandir and with Pink Auto procession from Rupali Square to terminate at Ekamra Haat. Hon’ble Minister Tourism & Culture Shri Ashok Kumar Panda will flag off the event at Master Canteen Square at 7am.
The theme of this year is “Tourism & Community Development”. To celebrate the event associating the communities, four roadside platforms will be prepared to showcase the performing art forms of Odisha such as Ghoda nacha, Sambalpuri dance, Gotipua and Ghoomra. It is also planned to welcome the tourists at Airport, Railway Stations, Sun Temple, Konark and other important places in Odisha by the tourism stakeholders.
Different competitions like painting, debate, photography and quiz are being held to commemorate the event. The winners of the different competitions will be awarded by the Hon’ble Minister Tourism & Culture in a state function to be held at 6pm at Rabindra Mandap.
The event will be followed by a cultural function organised by the Tourism Department Cultural Association.
