Bhubaneswar: Son of the soil, former chief minister of Odisha and the visionary leader of Indian politics Biju Patnaik has got tremendous influence on the present generation especially on the youth of Odisha. Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha, applauded the efforts of web channel OdishaLIVE while inaugurating the conclave. Biju Babu can be a subject of great inspiration for the new generation and thus digital media could be the best medium to connect him with the youth, he remarked.
OdishaLIVE created series of activities to commemorate the birth centenary of the legend. The chief minister inaugurated special paintings of veteran artist Baladev Maharatha, on Biju Babu at the occasion. Similarly digital platform www.bijupatnaik.org, special souvenir calendar carrying rare and historical photographs of Biju Babu were also unveiled at the event.
OdishaLIVE also created a postal Special Cover, approved by Indian Posts, on Biju Babu for the occasion. The album carrying special cover was presented by Tilak De, Chief Post Master General, Odisha Circle, to the chief minister, which was dedicated by the CM at the event.

A panel discussion on life and contribution of Biju Babu as a visionary leader of the century was the subject of attraction at the event. Freedom fighter Bhabani Charan Pattnaik, political analyst Prof. Surya Narayan Mishra, senior journalist Basanta Das, veteran political leader Amar Prasad Satapathy, economist and writer Natabar Khuntia, industry expert Dr S.K.Tamotia, former chief secretary Sudhansu Bhusan Mishra and former chairperson Odisha state womens’ commission Lopamudra Mohanty enriched the panel with their inputs and encounters to Biju Babu.
Devi Prasad Mishra, minister for industry and mass education and Khirod Kumar Jena, advisor OdishaLIVE and president OWB also graced the occasion.
