Adivasi Mela 2017: Fair Displays Tribal Lifestyle


Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the fortnight long popular Adivasi Mela-2017 at the Adivasi Exhibition Ground here on Thursday.

According to the organisers, as many as 185 stalls have been installed in the Mela which will continue till February 9.

Keeping in the view the demonetisation and cash crunch, ATM machines have been installed in the fairground for convenience of the people visiting the ground.

Besides, various tribal products, tribal home decor crafts, and spices, artifacts made of metal, wood, stone and other materials are also being presented during the Mela.

A number of cultural programmes showcasing dance and music of seven tribal groups have also been lined up in the evenings over the 15 days.

The fair is hosted by the ST and SC Development Department.
