Bhubaneswar: With the Friday releases coming up with Maha Shivaratri, a much celebrated holiday, the movie biz this week is expected to flourish. Both the movies Jolly LLB 2 and Hind Ka Napak Ko Jawab have done extensively well in the Box Office. The astonishing fact is Hind Ka Napak Ko Jawab has done more business than Jolly LLB 2 while both of them have crossed the 100 crore mark. The Ghazi Attack has also done well in the Box Office but has not been very prominent. While many more fantastic movies are lined up through the whole year, let’s look at the releases this Friday.
Katha Deli Matha Chuin
Odia movies were quite scarce recently with not many movies releasing but not for long. Another teenage love story movie is scheduled to release on 25th February, 2017. Katha Deli Matha Chuin stars Abhishek Rath, Riya Dey, Bijaya Mohanty and others. With no competition from other movies in the same language, the movie is expected to do well with Odia viewers. The movie has been shot all over Bhubaneswar and is directed by Shailendra Parida.
From the exceptional Director who has presented some beautiful gems to Indian cinema in the form of Haider, Omkara, Kaminey, Maqbool, Ishqiya, Saat Khoon Maaf, etc, Vishal Bharadwaj, comes with another historical war movie “Rangoon“. The movie is based on the war torn Rangoon and the events that transpire in it. With a Star studded cast of Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut, the movie has already been credited with lots of buzz and has been praised a lot both by the critics as well as the audience. Hopefully, this movie would do better in Odisha too.
James McAvoy’s acting was really appreciated in The X Men franchise. He has now paired off with Indian Director, M. Night Shyamalan who has been terrific in Hollywood throughout decades with movies like The Sixth Sense and The Last Airbender. Split is a thriller movie about a person with multiple personality disorder. The movie also stars Betty Buckley and Anya Taylor Joy.
This movie is perhaps the first movie from Russia which has been so famous and dubbed worldwide for premiers. Guardians has a main plot much like Avengers (A group of super heroes save the world!) but the super powers involved are very different and unique. There’s a man literally with a Bear’s head! The VFX used in this movie is incredible and it is expected to do well. The movie also stars Alina Lanina, Sebastien Sisak and others.
Looks like the amount of Indian talent has increased abroad as a number of Indian nationalities related to the movie world are doing very well in Hollywood. Lion is one more example for it. Dev Patel, from Oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire and The Man Who Knew Infinity has struck again with much more compelling and serious movie. The story is connected to India and tells a story of a person who literally lost his family due to unforeseen circumstances and was adopted by an Australian family. The boy then sets a journey to find about his family with the help of Google Maps. It’s an emotional ride with destiny and a great approach to the story. The movie has also been nominated for many categories in The Oscars. The movie also stars Rooney Mara and Nicole Kidman.
These are the movies that are releasing this week in the theatres that aim to entertain the audience. Movies have been such an important and integral part of people’s lives, so make sure to watch your favourite movie in the theatres and also The Oscars on 27th February.
