Bhubaneswar: Mango, the king of fruits is wooing customers at an exhibition-cum-sale in the city.
The four-day long exhibition-cum-sale that began today has been organised by The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) at its premises at IRC Village here for better marketing of mangoes produced in the state.
Governor Dr SC Jamir inaugurated the festival.
The festival is aimed to provide an opportunity to the tribal families to exhibit and sell their horticulture / farm produce and interact with senior level Govt. functionaries and bankers.
In the festival, popular varieties of garden fresh and carbide free mangoes such as Amrapali, Baiganpalli, Totapuri, Alphonso, Lengda, Dusheri, Sundari, Subarnarekha, Himsagar, Mallika, Neelam and other fruits such as Litchi, Pineapple, Jackfruit brought by farmers assisted under the WADI Development Programme of NABARD, are on display for sale.
The exhibition will continue till June 06 and will run from 2pm to 9pm every day.
It is expected that the festival will draw large number of visitors from the city and the denizens they will get to buy best qualities of mangoes at a reasonable price.
