Bhubaneswar: The 31st edition of the Patha Utsav on June 25, will witness an extravaganza of musical performances, clubbed with a series of events having athletics as the central theme to woo people to attend the forthcoming 22nd Asian Athletics Championship, to be hosted by the capital city from July 6 to July 9.
The special edition of the weekly street festival is expected to have a sea of people from different walks of life. According to sources, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will announce the various programmes related to the game at the Patha Utsav, while welcoming all athletes from over 45 countries.
The city administration will take up special citizen connect programmes at various schools, colleges and other institutions. The campaign will continue till July 2.
To popularise the upcoming sports event,’selfie with Olly zones’, distribution Olly masks, will be conducted at the Patha Utsav. Apart from this, athletic quiz, thematic drawing and painting competitions on athletics and storytelling sessions on 45 participating nations will also be conducted.
“Walk with Olly” would be one of the major attractions at the Patha Utsav.
Besides, flags of all 45 countries taking part in the games will be displayed at multiple locations in the city, including Janpath and Bidyut Marg.
