Bhubaneswar: Paying obeisance to Lord Jagannath, a three-day festival of devotional songs aimed at inculcating spirituality and purity in thought and action among the people concluded on Wednesday evening.
The musical event, ‘Guhari’ is being organised by the State Tourism and Culture Department and Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre at Rabindra Mandap in the city.
The festival features 30 singers from across the state. The evenings witnessed renditions by both senior and young singers. A number of devotional songs, including bhajan and janana, are being sung during the festival.
Many well-known artistes such as Shantilata Chhotray, Siuli Ghosh, Sushanta Panda performed during the musical fest.
Many instrumentalists also performed on the occasion as accompanists as well as for instrumental renditions of various devotional songs.
The audience that comprised mostly Lord Jagannath devotees appreciated the renditions by the artistes and found themselves lost in devotion.
